Child “bedlessness” is a national problem, and as a national nonprofit with chapters spread across the country, Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) has provided the solution. We are a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor and there are multiple ways to get involved right here in the communities of White County.
Chapter President, Kyle Fenton will present an overview and mission of SHP, with time for Q & A, and offer opportunity for individual involvement. The non profit will host an informational meeting on Saturday, January 25th from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at The White County Farm Bureau. Fenton says all are welcome and encouraged to attend so that you may learn how you can help get kids off the floor in our very own community. Fenton continues, “we fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. When it was brought to our attention that the need for beds went far beyond our own neighborhoods, we stepped up and took initiative. If a child needs a bed, we want to make sure they get one. No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”
