It was a quick meeting for the City of Grayville board members at their last October monthly meeting on Monday night.
After being tabled at the October 12 meeting, the Grayville school district’s TIF agreement was approved, with a $50,000 agreement.
Under new business, the board approved an ordinance allowing grass markers in Oak Grove Cemetery after clarifying some confusion. The amendment with the grass markers will allow flexibility for markers to be used throughout the cemetery, with placement limitations and no foot markers.
The board also approved the VFW and American Legion to celebrate Poppy Day at the 4-way stop in Grayville on November 7. Mayor Travis Thompson said they will be at the 4-way stop, typically from 8:00 am to noon. Poppy Day honors military service members who have died or suffered in past and ongoing wars. Drive through Grayville on November 7 to make a donation and receive a Poppy.
Last up was the agreement with Steels Estates at 116 East North Street, recommending a TIF amount of $ 4,722.90. The project will include heating and air work and some roof replacement.
The next City of Grayville meeting is November 9 at 7 pm.
