On Tuesday, a White County Sheriff Deputy noticed a green 1997 Chevrolet S-10 traveling with no front plate and a cracked windshield on the driver’s side. The officer conducted a traffic stop and also observed that the temporary plate had expired.
Gregory O’Neal was the driver, and the deputy ran his information through dispatch. O’Neal’s license has been suspended in Illinois, and O’Neal did not have insurance on the vehicle.
O’Neal was arrested at the scene and transported to the White County Jail. He was issued three citations: Expired Registration, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Suspended. After being booked, O’Neal was released with a court date set for April 7 at 9 am.

Later that week, on Thursday afternoon, Fairfield resident Phillip Bailey arrived at the Sheriff’s Office lobby to turn himself in on his active White County warrant.
Bailey’s warrant is for the offense of Driving While License Revoked. Bailey had missed his March 2nd court appearance, which is when the warrant was issued.

That same day, a Deputy conducted another traffic stop, this time pulling over a Ford Focus for failing to use a turn signal.
The deputy noticed that the passenger, Landon Kueber, had an active White County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Once the deputy received information about the warrant, Kueber was placed under arrest.
After being transported to the White County Jail, Kueber was released on Pre-Trial release conditions. His First Appearance is scheduled for April 6 at 9 am.

On Friday afternoon, the series of incidents continued as Crossville resident James Burdin was pulled over on a full extradition warrant out of White County for Violation of an Order of Protection.
During his court appearance on Monday, Burdin was released for a separate case involving Theft less than $500 and a False Alarm Complaint to 911. He has pleaded not guilty and will have a pre-trial hearing for this case on April 29 at 9 am.

In the early morning hours on Saturday, another traffic stop took place when a White County Deputy stopped a Cadillac Escalade that had repeatedly crossed the center line.
The driver, Indiana native Jkhari Phifer, had a suspended license in Indiana and was wanted out of Knox County.
While Phifer was being placed under arrest for the warrant and suspended license, another responding officer located a weapon in the vehicle on the passenger’s side, a semi-automatic pistol-style AR-15 rifle.
The passenger was identified as Keith Hall, of Illinois. Per Illinois law, an individual can legally transport a firearm, but it must be in a case or the center console.
Hall was also arrested. No other contraband was found during the vehicle search. Phifer remains in jail for the Knox County warrant and was cited for Driving While License Suspended and Improper Traffic Lane Usage. Hall was cited for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, with a court date of April 26 at 9 am.
