Six Governmental/School Board Meetings We’re Following for Next Week

Norris City officials will gather for a special meeting on Monday evening.  On their shortened agenda is the tax levy.  Leaders are also expected to take up the Schreifels property on East Fourth Street before a possible executive session and adjournment.  That meeting is scheduled for 6pm.

A full deck of meetings is on tap for Tuesday.  The City of Carmi board will gather at 5:30pm.  On the agenda, a resolution regarding petty cash for the city and the light and water department as well as a separate resolution to open a checking account for the Sycamore Street watermain project.  Leaders are also expected to approve an engineering bill from Brown and Roberts totaling $78,556.65 through the IEPA loan for that project.  The council is also expected to consider a handful of ordinances including one that deals and would formally prohibit dumpster diving at the city dump.  Reports from the mayor and committees are on the agenda and an opportunity for the public to make comments is also marked.  No closed session is expected.  City Council meets at 225 East Main Street directly behind the light and water office; the gathering will get underway at 5:30pm.

Tuesday night, leaders with both McLeansboro’s City Council and the Hamilton County Board are set to gather.  As of Friday mid-morning, we’ve yet to receive their agendas.

Monday night is also supposed to be the monthly Unit 5 School Board meeting.  We haven’t seen their agenda yet either.

Wednesday night will feature the White County Board at 7pm in the White County courthouse.  NCOE Unit 10 school board members are also set to gather at 7pm in Norris City.
