Shimkus earns Farm Bureau Endorsement

ACTIVATOR, the Illinois Farm Bureau’s Political Involvement Fund, has announced its endorsement of John Shimkus for re-election in the 15th Congressional District.

“John listens when producers visit with him. He is leader on issues important to us, particularly on Farm Bureau priority issues like EPA overregulation, renewable fuels, trade, and crop insurance,” said ACTIVATOR Trustee Committee chair Gale Koelling, president of the Washington County Farm Bureau. “We have no better friend in Congress than John Shimkus.”

Shimkus noted, “The agricultural economy goes beyond the grain and livestock farms that encompass the 15th District and the state. It affects every county in this rural district that I am honored to represent.

“I am grateful to have the support of Farm Bureau and its members. There are many issues that could impact farming coming up, and I promise to continue to be a strong voice for farmers and rural America.”

Shimkus has previously received the highest awards given by both the Illinois Farm Bureau (Charles B. Shuman Distinguished Service Award) and American Farm Bureau Federation (Golden Plow Award).

ACTIVATOR is providing Shimkus with in-kind financial support in addition to the public announcement of his endorsement. The ACTIVATOR endorsement was announced with local Farm Bureau members at stops in Breese, Effingham, Toledo, and Martinsville.
