White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss is encouraging students to apply for a scholarship through his office courtesy of the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association. In total, the organization will award more than $58,000 in college scholarships. Weiss will be giving out one of those $500 scholarships. Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents and be enrolled as a full-time student during the current school year. Applications can be found at the Sheriff’s Department or online at https://www.ilsheriff.org/youth-2/. The deadline to apply is March 13th.
