Sheriff’s Department makes arrests; investigates oil field thefts over weekend

18 year old Jacob DeLong of Maunie was arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department on Friday at his residence.  DeLong was wanted on two juvenile warrants from White County.  When deputies attempted to make contact with DeLong, he answered the door with a baseball bat, attempted to strike a deputy with the front door, and attempted to flee through the house before being taken into custody at 8:42 am.  Additional adult charges of resisting a police officer were filed, and DeLong was released from the White County Jail after posting a $150 bond.

 

36 year old Joshua Frashier of Maunie was arrested Friday morning by the White County Sheriff’s Department at his residence on a White County warrant.  Fraisher was taken into custody at 10:15 am and transported to the White County Jail.  He was later released after posting bond.

 

The Sheriff’s Department is also investigating a pair of thefts that occurred at oil leases over the weekend.  At a lease in Maunie owned by R Energy of Carmi, approximately 30, 150 pound weights were stolen and the well motor was damaged.  At a lease owned by Wood Energy of Mt. Vernon, IL in Calvin items were taken from a pulling unit.
