Sealy Sentenced in Hamilton County Following Officer Involved Shooting

A Hamilton County court case that dates back 365 days has reached it’s conclusion. 31-year-old Aaron Sealy was originally arrested by McLeansboro Police on October 19th of 2021 for possession of a stolen Ford truck.  He was in custody at the county sheriff’s department when he escaped his restraints, took a fire extinguisher off the wall and sprayed a deputy as well as a McLeansboro PD officer.  Both officers fired their weapons and struck Sealy once in the abdomen subduing his escape attempt.  After being taken to a hospital for treatment, he was placed back in custody on May 16th of this year.

Sealy is already serving a 3 year sentence out of Williamson County.  His newest convictions on 3 separate class 2 felonies in Hamilton County have led to 6 year sentences which will be served concurrently after the 3 year sentence out of Williamson County.  Sealy is currently jailed in the Menard Correctional Center.
