“Rockin’ Through the Decades”: Mt. Vernon Fall Fest Parade Time Change

The 2017 “Rockin’ Through the Decades” Fall Fest parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th. Due to unforeseen conflicts, the parade time was moved from a previous 3 p.m. start. Parade line-up will now begin at 9 a.m. from the Park Plaza on Newby Avenue.

Parade entries are being accepted until Friday, September 22nd. Parade entry is free to individuals, schools, and not-for-profits and is $25 for businesses and political entries. In keeping with the “Rockin’ Through the Decades” theme, participants are encouraged to choose a decade from the past or present to decorate their entry, such as the roaring 20s or fabulous 50s. Entries may get as creative as they choose. The annual parade regularly draws over 100 entries and is in need of several more entries to ensure another successful year! The “Rockin’ Through the Decades” parade will also feature a marching band expo of over 10 area middle and high school bands.
