A Norris City woman was in court yesterday and will remain behind bars following her arrest Sunday evening. White County Sheriffs authorities were called to a Boyd Street home just after 8pm in reference to a domestic situation. The 76-year-old resident informed the officer on duty her daughter, 51-year-old Andrea Ray had pulled her hair, knocked her down, and struck her in the face a few times noting that Ray had become more and more irritable the last few days. The officer notes in the report that at one point Ray slapped herself on the leg, rolled her eyes, and her demeanor changed prompting the officer to recommend a mental evaluation. After her arrest and during transport, the officer says he could hear Ray arguing with someone even though he and Ray were the only two people in the cruiser. In court yesterday, Ray was ordered held until December 1st when the matter will be taken up again.
