Posey County to Shutter “Non Essential Businesses” after Friday

The Posey County Health Department, in conjunction with County Commissioners has made the move to call for closing what they call “non essential” businesses including hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, bowling alley, tanning salons, and fitness centers.  According to a press release, the closures will take effect on Friday, March 20th at the close of business and are expected to last until further notice.  A spokesperson say, “This decision was not made lightly.  For the health and well being of our county, we feel it’s necessary.”

As of now, banks, grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations will still be allowed to continue operating.  Restaurants are still allowed to operate by offering carry out, delivery, or curb side pick up.  Questions can be directed to the PCHD at 812 – 838 – 1328.
