Norris City resident Justin Nelson received a slap on the wrist in White County court Wednesday. Nelson was in court facing a total of 8 charges in five different cases that ended up packaged together. Among them were three Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle charges received on August 2nd, 12th, and 18th. All three of those counts were dismissed as was a Theft Charge from August 3rd in a plea deal. Nelson received 2 years’ probation, 30 hours of community service, faces a fine and drug treatment, is ordered to pay restitution, and was given a 6-month stayed jail sentence for a Possession of Meth charge dealt on July 2nd. Also packaged in with those cases was a review on Nelson’s July of 2024 Violation of an Order of Protection in which he had been sentenced in September of last year to 2 years of supervision, fined and ordered into alcohol treatment. A review has been set for January of 2026 according to online court records.
