An updated list of candidates who have picked up petitions for office from White County Clerk Beth Sell reveals that not only has Ray Mitchell who has formally announced his intention, but also Cassie (Hughes) Pigg has picked up a petition, signaling she’s considering a run. Mitchell, a Democrat, will be seeking to unseat District #3 Board Member Ken Usery who has also picked up a petition. Hughes, a Republican, meanwhile would be running in District #4. That’s Chairman Don Puckett’s district. Ron McAnulty has also picked up a petition, indicating he’ll be running for re-election in District 2. Elsewhere, Denton Aud has picked up a petition for State’s Attorney. Chris Marsh has picked up for Coroner. Kelly Fulkerson has picked up for Circuit Clerk. The rest of the list is made up of Precinct Committeepersons. Of note, only 4 of the 17 individuals to pick up petitions are listed as Democrats. That’s a stark contrast from just a decade and even more so, two decades ago.SHARE NOWShare This Page
