A McLeansboro man arrested on Friday was in White County court for a first appearance on Monday. 62-year-old Lewis Richardson is facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A first appearance was held on Monday morning and Richardson was let go on Pre-Trial Release. He’ll be due back in court for a preliminary hearing on May 18th.
Also in White County court Monday, a Tazewell County man pled guilty to a charge of Theft he picked up on July 4th of last year. 28-year-old Chance Stambaugh of Marquette Heights, Illinois pled guilty to the Theft (amount over $500, but less than $10k) charge and was given 2 years of probation, fined $500, ordered to pay restitution to Martin & Bayley totaling $4,686.47, and given a 6 month stayed jail sentence. The case is due for a review in September.
47-year-old Jeremy Allen pled out to probation in a pair of cases Monday. Allen was in court on a charge of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place that dates back to March 11th and a charge of Obstruction of Justice/Destroying Evidence that dates back to March 24th. Allen pled guilty in both of those cases and received 2 years of probation, a fine, and a 6 month stayed jail sentence. Two other cases of Allen’s were reviewed Monday with the latest charges including an Aggravated Battery in a Public Place conviction that dates back to 2023. Allen had been sentenced to 4 ½ years in the Department of Corrections in that case in October of 2023.
A McLeansboro man was in court in Hamilton County today for a detention hearing following his arrest Saturday. 46-year-old George Hirschl is facing charges including a count each of Aggravated Kidnapping, Unlawful Restraint, Battery, and Aggravated Assault. The local woman who says she was involved posted on social media that Hirschl pulled a knife on the group of individuals she says were playing at Kids Kingdom in McLeansboro. A preliminary hearing has been set for May 20th in the case.
