The Carmi-White County Girls Basketball team fell to Mt. Carmel on the road last night by a final score of 40-28.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled offensively early, but were able to hang around in the first half. Carmi put together a solid start to the 2nd half, trimming Mt. Carmel’s lead that once was 10 points all the way down to 2 at 22-20 with 6 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. Mt. Carmel would end the game on a 20-8 run to pull away with the 40-28 victory.
Addi Elliott led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 17 points.
Caroline Simmons scored 5 points.
Ashlyn Rager and Torrie Rider both scored 3 points.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 15-9 on the year. They will play their final conference game of the season tonight as they travel to Flora to take on the Wolfgals.
The IHSA will release the Girls Basketball Sub Sectional seeds this afternoon. The Lady Bulldogs are in south Sub Sectional of the Paris Sectional, and will either play in the Hamilton County Regional or Palestine Regional. The IHSA will release the full postseason brackets tomorrow afternoon.
The Carmi-White County Boys Basketball team will travel to Flora tomorrow night to face the Wolves. Carmi is looking to bounce back after a 40-38 loss against Edwards County on Tuesday. Fans can watch and listen to tomorrow night’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
