ISP District 19 released several sets of enforcement figures for special patrols on Thursday. On Friday, November 19th, troopers conducted an occupant restraint enforcement patrol or OREP in White County. During the event, fifteen citations, including ten seat belt tickets were issued and twelve total warnings were handed out.
On Monday November 23, troopers conducted OREP in Saline County and issued 18 citations, 15 of which were for seatbelt violations. Seven total warnings were also issued.
OREP was conducted in Wayne County on Tuesday November 24th, where 18 tickets were issued, 15 of those for not buckling up. Twelve drivers also received warnings during the event.
Of the three OREP operations, no tickets were issued for child restraint violations.
Troopers also conducted a special traffic enforcement patrol in Wayne County on Sunday November 22. There, District 19 issued 51 total tickets and five written warnings. 43 of those tickets were for speeding, while five more were for seatbelt violations.
During the month of December, District 19 will conduct Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement patrols in Hamilton and Saline County and a roadside safety check in Wabash County on December 19th.
