Ahead of the Labor Day holiday, IDOT has announced they will open up areas closed for construction wherever possible to minimize any travel disruptions. In Hamilton County, Illinois 142, 6.3 miles north of Illinois 242, lane reductions will continue with traffic their controlled by temporary signals. In Saline County, Illinois 34 through Galatia, lane reductions will continue with traffic controlled by temporary signals as well. IDOT says to expect delays and allow extra time for trips through these areas.
