Hosick Jailed Following Arrest Friday Night

Updated 11:15am following receipt of report:

41-year-old Joshua Hosick of Crossville is behind bars following his arrest Friday evening.  The White County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the Rudolph Street apartments just before 9pm after a caller said Hoick was screaming at kids with a gardening tool in hand.  The report indicates once an officer arrived, Hosick dropped the shovel and began running despite multiple orders by the deputy for him to stop.  Eventually, the officer found Hosick underneath a car after hearing a loud thump according to the report.  Once Hosick was lured out from under the vehicle, the deputy noted a large amount of blood coming from Hosick’s head over his right eye.  Hosick was detained and an ambulance called to evaluate.  EMS Director Adam Allen was concerned the entire ordeal was a medical issue noting that he observe obvious signs of drooping on one side of Hosick’s face indicating a potential stroke.  Hosick allegedly told Allen he’d only had a couple drinks.  Complaints were signed and once Hosick reportedly refused a hospital visit, he was placed under arrest with charges of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting a Peace Officer.

Once at the jail, Hosick was served with a warrant out of Hamilton County for Failure to Appear on a Burglary charge.  That case dates back to November of 2024.  Hosick was due in Hamilton County Court in July and failed to show up resulting in the warrant.  Hosick was in White County court Monday and is due for a formal arraignment on August 25th.
