Hamilton County Retired Teachers Welcome McLeansboro PD Officer Bryson and K-9 Polo

The Hamilton County Retired Teachers recently held their spring meeting. The meeting was highlighted with the featured speaker, Officer Matt Bryson of the McLeansboro Police Department and his canine partner, Polo. Officer Bryson spoke on the process and schooling involved in training Polo. He also spoke on the various ways Polo is used to detect illegal drugs, track individuals, and find lost articles. Officer Bryson, assisted by Police Officer DK York, also demonstrated Polo “in action” as the canine helped apprehend a suspect. The HCRTA expressed appreciation to the McLeansboro Police Officers and Polo for their service and for an outstanding presentation.

All retired educators are invited to attend HCRTA meetings. The next meeting will be held on September 17 at 1 p.m. at the Main Street Diner in McLeansboro.
