Work continues on Saunders in Carmi. Carmi City Council approved an IDOT change order for the project Tuesday evening and a final pay request for E.T. Simonds amounting to $45,644.50 in total. The city will also take bids for a culvert at Bradshaw Park with the hopes that the project will be complete in time for CRSL Opening Day in May. The 4-H Gift Garden land is good to go after council unanimously approved leasing the property at 603 East Main to the University of Illinois Extension for $1 per year up to 3 years.
Council did table one agenda item. Rather than accepting the Vipower Services quote for a system upgrade on engine 7 at the power plant, alderman Tracy Nelson said he wanted to try to get additional quotes. Vipower’s quote was in excess of $68,000.
The dates for City of Carmi Council meetings has been set for the upcoming year. They will all be held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm.
With no updates from Mayor Jeff Pollard or the council members and no executive session, the February 4th meeting adjourned at just before the clock struck 5:38pm. Council will reconvene February 18th.
