FMH Welcomes Behavioral Health Therapist Amy Barton LCSW to Horizon Healthcare

Fairfield Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Amy Barton LCSW, Behavioral Health Therapist, to its Behavioral Health Services Team at Horizon Healthcare.

Amy Barton, LCSW, has been providing social services to children and families for the past 20 years. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and then went on to obtain her Masters of Social Work with an emphasis on School Social Work and Child Welfare. Amy is a trained play therapist using play therapy techniques in her sessions. She utilizes the techniques of expressive art therapy for children.

“Fairfield Memorial Hospital is very excited to be adding Amy to our team of caring, dedicated providers at Horizon Healthcare. With the addition of Ms. Barton to the team here at Horizon Healthcare, we are increasing the availability to the services we currently offer within the behavioral health field.” stated Katherine Bunting-Williams, Ph.D., FMH CEO.

“As a Clinician, I firmly believe each patient holds the keys to achieve their therapeutic goals. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, including children and their parents. I utilize multiple mediums, including play therapy, to help children and their caregivers resolve concerns they may have. The benefits of play therapy are endless because play is the language children speak. Through play therapy, children are able to learn self-expression, emotional regulation, healthy coping and problem solving skills, as well as modification for negative behaviors.” Stated Amy Barton, LCSW.

The FMH Horizon Healthcare Outpatient Behavioral Health Therapy Program provides counseling services to individuals, couples and families, including children, teens, and adults. Those dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, family conflict, medical illness, and behavioral difficulties could benefit from the program, as well as those with a more severe mental health diagnosis. A variety of interventions and coping skills are offered based upon individual treatment planning and agreed upon by the patient and the healthcare team.

To schedule an appointment with any of the FMH Horizon Healthcare Providers please call 618-842-4617.
