Egyptian Health Department Reports 7 New COVID-19 Cases Over the Weekend

The Egyptian Health Department was notified, over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), of 7 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (3)
    • 2 females in their 40’s
    • 1 female in her 60’s

 

  • White County (4)
    • 1 female in her teens
    • 1 male in his teens
    • 1 male in his 20’s
    • 1 male in his 50’s

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,454 lab confirmed positives, including 47 deaths, 2,283 have recovered, White County has had a total of 1,699 lab-confirmed positives, including 26 deaths, 1,577 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 478 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 3 deaths, 453 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

 

 

To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– 𝙋𝙊𝙎𝙄𝙏𝙄𝙑𝙀 or 𝙉𝙀𝙂𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙑𝙀– you should still 𝙄𝙎𝙊𝙇𝘼𝙏𝙀 until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH announced that Illinois had a total of 1,780 new confirmed cases and 34 additional deaths. Bringing the total of 1,185,477 confirmed cases and 20,494 deaths in Illinois.

Wash your hands frequently. Wear a face covering if you have to go out. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. Remain 6 feet apart from others.
