Illinois State Police have issued a release following a vehicle crash that involved one of their own. ISP say 21 year old Alyssa Collins of Harrisburg was northbound on Webster Street in Harrisburg and failed to stop at the stop sign driving directly into the path of a cruiser driven by an unidentified District 19 Trooper. The report indicates the law enforcement officer was unable to avoid a collision and impacted Collins silver Ford. Collins’ passenger 25 year old Sierra Sherrod, also of Harrisburg was taken by ambulance to Harrisburg Medical Center for precautionary evaluation and both vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Collins ended up with tickets for not only disobeying a stop sign, but also operating a vehicle with expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
