CWCHS Football Falls to 0-5 Following Saturday Loss to Chester

The Carmi White County varsity football team took another loss dropping to 0-5 on the season Saturday afternoon.  The Chester Yellowjackets came to town and topped the Bulldogs 39-16.  The home team led after 1, 8-7 but 19 unanswered in the 2nd quarter by Chester proved too much to overcome.  Titus Wood did provide a highlight in the 3rd quarter by tackling Chester’s leading rusher Jordan Meredith in his own end zone for a safety.  The Bulldogs had trouble holding onto the ball however with 5 fumbles on the day, losing two of them.  Brody Atteberry piloted Carmi White County and went 4 for 12 throwing.  Isaac King led the way on the ground for the Bulldogs with 24 carries and racking up 209 yards.  Tyler Goemaat caught two passes for the Dogs picking up 18 yards in total.  CWCHS out rushed the Yellowjackets 238 – 164 and owned Time of Possession 27 minutes and change to just under 21 minutes for Chester.
