Carmi Police arrested 47 year old Joseph Quertermoes of Shawneetown Tuesday morning after he was found attempting to hitchhike out of town. Quertermoes was wanted on a Gallatin County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of reckless driving and was taken into custody at the intersection of Main and Staley Streets at 10:42 am. He was transported to the White County Jail and is being held on a $150 bond.
Rosemary Aud reported to Carmi Police Tuesday afternoon that someone had used her debit card to make several unauthorized purchases. The amount of the theft exceeds $500.
Tuesday night, Carmi Police arrested 46 year old Heather Ajayi of Carmi at a residence on 5th Street on a Wabash County warrant for failure to appear on charges of DUI and driving on a suspended license. She was taken into custody at 11:44 pm and is being held at the White County Jail on a $300 bond.
