The Carmi Police Department arrested 33 year old Celso Ramirez of Ridgway early Saturday morning following a traffic stop. Ramirez was stopped in the China Buffet parking lot at 3:44am and was taken into custody after officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. Ramirez was transported to the White County Jail and was later released after posting a $150 bond.
28 year old Tara Johnson of Carmi was arrested at her 4th Street residence Sunday night by Carmi Police on a failure to appear warrant from White County for failure to appear on a charge of driving while license suspended. Johnson was taken into custody at 9:08pm and transported to the White County Jail. Johnson was released after posting a $500 bond.
