Carmi man arrested for failure to appear

The Carmi Police Department arrested 35 year old James C Wiggins just after 8pm Friday night on a White County warrant for failure to appear on a criminal trespass charge. The Carmi man was taken into custody at Danny’s Pool Room, and following the arrest, it was discovered that Wiggins was in possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis.  Wiggins was transported to the White County Jail and released after posting a $500 bond on the warrant and a $150 bond on the marijuana charge.

On Saturday, Carmi officers took a report of cash missing from a Commerce Street residence, and a report of a stolen purse on Sunday morning.

On Sunday morning, Thomas G. Jones of New Harmony, Indiana was arrested by Carmi officers following a traffic stop in the McDonalds parking lot.  It was found that Jones was improperly using a registration or title on his vehicle and was driving without insurance.  Jones was processed at the White County Jail and released on a $150 cash bond.
