Carmi Kiwanis Vote on Corn Day Parade Theme

Katelyne Wolff counts ballots for Corn Day Parade Theme as Holly Healy makes Corn Day plans

The Carmi Kiwanis Club met at noon on Thursday, February 1 at the Farm Bureau Building. President Holly Healy led a planning meeting for this year’s Corn Day. Ballots were passed out so members could vote on the Parade theme. Katelyne Wolff volunteered to count the votes. After a tie, a second vote decision came up with the winner, Wonders of the World, submitted by Kelly Northcott.

Toby Brown won the 50/50 Raffle. He also donated to the Good News Fund. His Good News was that Colton Yates was voted a member of the All South High School Football Conference.

Rod Matsel gave us an update on the new Corn Car. The Corn Cob Is ready to be placed by forklift onto the new Corn Car.

Corn Day will be October 13th and would not be possible without the generous sponsors. Holly is starting the planning early, and we plan to advertise our sponsors as early as possible.

Our next upcoming event will be Pancake Day February 17th at Washington School 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tickets purchased in advance are $5.00. They will be available at the door for $7.00. Public support is greatly appreciated.

Next week’s program will be Broommaking by Claudie Parsons. Visitors are welcome.
