Carmi City Council Agenda: Two New Aldermen to be Sworn in Monday; City Attorney to Advise on Open Meetings Act

Jeremy Courson and James “Jim” Totten will be sworn in and officially take their seats at the Carmi City Council meeting scheduled for 6pm this coming Tuesday, May 7th.  City Attorney Greg Stewart will administer the Oaths.  Mike Knight and Mark Blake will be re-sworn in.

While there, Stewart is also expected to discuss and advise on proper usage of the Open Meetings Act.  Council is set up to make a couple of re-appointments as well; Keith Hoskins as Trustee on the Police Pension Fund Board for a 2 year term June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2021 and Ronda Karroll to the Library Board from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2021.

Edward Jones Financial Advisor Grant Gee also made the upcoming agenda.  He’s expected to be asking the City of Carmi to approve his application to the Façade Improvement Program.

Other than typical reports from standing committees and the mayor, the only other agenda item will see City Electrical Engineer David Coston give an update on Generator #11 as well as discussion on other projects he’s overseeing.

The meeting  gets underway at 6pm from the comfort of City Council Chambers located at 225 East Main Street in Carmi.  WROY/WRUL News will have the events covered for you.
