A Crossville man faces a sentencing hearing in August, but thanks to a plea agreement, he will be charged with only three offenses, while an array of cases with multiple charges are being dismissed.
On Thursday in White County court, 46-year-old Walter Bertram entered into a plea agreement on three charges related to incidents that occurred earlier that year, in January 2025.
Bertram pled guilty to one count of Burglary from January 22, 2025, and two counts of Theft $500-$10,000 for two incidents from January 6, 2025, and January 27, 2025.
Part of Bertram’s agreement, before sentencing, includes payments to a handful of companies, totaling $18,306.75. Bertram also agreed to enter himself into Lighthouse Recovery, where he will undergo drug treatment.
15 charges were dismissed, per the deal, including eight felonies ranging from two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine to Theft with Intent, Theft Deception, Criminal Damage to Property, and Obstruction of Justice.
