April 4th candidate profile – Alderman Ward 1 – Jack Bradshaw

In an effort to help the public make informed decisions in the upcoming Consolidated Election April 4th, we at WROY/WRUL News asked candidates in the contested races for the City of Carmi to fill out a short questionnaire.

Jack Bradshaw

Carmi Alderman Ward #1

  1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born in Carmi to Fred and Ella Mae Bradshaw.  Happily married to my wife Jill for 39 years.  We have two sons and three grandchildren.  Owner and operator of Bradshaw Vacuum and property manager of 60 government owned apartments.  Work in our church and travel and sing gospel music with my family.

  1. Why do you want to serve?

I am a candidate for the people of Ward 1, not the establishment! In order for things to change, you have to make changes, and I want to do that for Ward 1 and all of Carmi.

  1. What are the biggest issues you see facing your desired position? How do you plan to address these issues?

What I hear when I am out meeting the people is that their issues and concerns do not get heard. I want things to be the same for everyone, no matter who we are or where we live.  I will work hard to get the voices of Ward 1 heard.

  1. What sets you apart from the other candidates? Why should voters choose you on April 4th?

This is my first time to run as alderman.  I know what it is like to run a business and I know how to work with people and work for the people.

My goal is to listen and serve the people.  I may not be able to get everything accomplished or fixed in the time I want, but I will work hard as your alderman.  I will listen and I will not make empty promises.  If we all work together, things can come together.
