22-year-old Jacob Ahrens is headed to prison. You may remember back in August of 2025 a crash that resulted in the death of 20-year-old Mattix Sandifer of Ridgway.
Online court records indicate Ahrens agreed to a plea deal in Saline County court during a final pretrial hearing late last week. Ahrens will spend up to seven years behind bars after pleading guilty to one count of Aggravated DUI Resulting in Death and one count of Aggravated DUI Resulting in Bodily Harm. The other charges in the case were dismissed as per the plea deal.
