June 28-29 – 7 p.m.; June 30 – 2 p.m. – Jr. Falcons Productions presents Legally Blonde: The Musical in the George T. Dennis Visual and Performing Arts Center Theatre. This show will be performed by high school-aged students and SIC students. Tickets are on sale now at sic.edu/boxoffice. Email [email protected] for more information.

June & July – Mon. & Wed. – 2-3:30 p.m. – College for Kids – Art Academy will be held at SIC’s David L. Stanley White County Center in Carmi. This series of fun art classes will cover many mediums, color theory, and other basic art topics. The cost is $60 plus a $40 supply fee. Please register in person at the center.

July 4 – SIC will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

July 8-11 – SIC is hosting Week 1 of its Career Exploration Camps at its Harrisburg campus. This camp is open to students currently in sixth through eighth grade. Diesel and Small Engine Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will learn hands-on basic mechanics, how engines work, and even build their own. July 13 – ACT testing in A116 on the Harrisburg campus. Pre-registration is required. Visit www.act.org for additional dates or to register. Free online practice tests can be found at www.academy.act.org. Call 618-252-5400, ext. 2442 for more info on ACT or SAT testing.

July 15-18 – SIC is hosting Week 2 of its Career Exploration Camps at its Harrisburg campus. This camp is open to students currently in sixth through eighth grade. Allied Health Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will explore trauma nursing and respiratory therapy, see an AirEvac Helicopter, and witness “Stop the Bleed” and pig lung demonstrations. Criminal Justice Camp will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students learn how police K-9 teams work, meet the SWAT team and see an armored vehicle, discover how the bomb squad works, and meet a real crime scene investigator. July 16 – 6 p.m. –The SIC Board of Trustees meeting will be held in the Rodney J. Brenner Board Room.

July 18 – Last day to withdraw from 8-week summer classes.

July 19-21 – Jr. Falcons Productions presents Frozen, Jr. in the George T. Dennis Visual and Performing Arts Center Theatre. This show will be performed by kindergarten through eighth-grade students.
