Wednesday White County Court; Holland Plea Deal and Goff Court Update

A Carmi man was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2025 for a 2022 case, but during that time period, he racked up seven more cases and was recently sentenced in White County Court on Wednesday for three of the seven.
41-year-old Karl Holland entered a plea deal, pleading guilty to three charges while thirteen others were dismissed. Two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine and one charge that was amended to Child Sexual Abuse Material gave Holland a total of 19 years that will run concurrently with his 12-year sentence for the 2022 case.
The thirteen charges, stemming from 2024 to 2026, dismissed include: Domestic Battery bodily harm, Disorderly Conduct, Felon Failure to Return from Furlough, Criminal Damage to Governmental Property, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Forgery, Possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Domestic Battery with a prior, two counts of Possession of Child Pornography, and two counts of Unlawful Use of Property.
The defense in Charlie Goff’s case added more information about his situation.
Goff is facing charges of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, Solicitation to Meet a Child, and Grooming from May 2026.
According to online court records, Goff entered a plea of not guilty, but his defense team presented a photograph into the case. Per the court documents, the photograph was of the victim and was sent to Goff after she informed him that she was underage. The two met on a dating site; the victim initially claimed to be an adult, but after several months she told Goff she was actually 14.
The judge allowed Goff to be released on electronic monitoring and home confinement, and he may only go to and from work and doctor appointments.
Goff’s next hearing will be a Pre-Trial on December 10 at 9 am.
