Illinois State Police have identified the two people killed in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi Monday morning in rural Gallatin County.
Authorities said 62-year-old Ronald G. Yates of Ridgway and 76-year-old Linda Kay Isom of Equality, died in the collision. Both were occupants of the passenger vehicle.
The crash occurred just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Ridgway New Haven Road and Shawneetown New Haven Road, just east of Ridgway. State Police say the passenger vehicle collided with a semi-truck. The driver of the semi, whose name has not been released, was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
