In White County Court news, three people will be awaiting their plea hearings on August 6, and one individual has been released per the Safe-T Act.
Dawn Fowler, who was arrested back in May, has been released from White County Jail. Per the court report, the Honorable Judge T. Scott Webb stated that, based on the fact that none of her charges are detainable offenses, she will be released under the Safe-T Act.
Fowler is facing charges of Forgery, Concealment of Death of a Person, and Obstruction of Justice after a wellness check was conducted by Carmi Police on her mother, Nancy Fowler.
Brian Gwaltney will have his plea hearing on August 6 for charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, which all occurred in January 2026.
Kayden McDowell and David Oshea will also have their hearings on the same day. McDowell is facing charges of Aggravated DUI and Theft, both in January, and Oshea is facing charges of Domestic Battery from an incident in March.
