Connely Conviction Reversed Just Under Two Years into 30 Year Sentence

It’s been just about a month since we told you the conviction that sent Emmit Connely to prison appeared on it’s way to being vacated.  As of Thursday afternoon, that’s what has happened.  The mandate came down Thursday and while we haven’t obtained a copy of it, Illinois Department of Corrections records show Connely was released by court order as of Thursday afternoon and online White County court documents show that the disposition was reversed and dismissed Thursday.  With Friday being a holiday, we won’t be able to get any additional details until Monday.  Connely was just under 2 years in to a 30 year sentence.
