A brunch honoring cancer survivors was held at Christian Chapel Church on Saturday, April 18. The event was hosted by the Relay For Life Committee of Hamilton/Wayne/White Counties. “We love sharing this special event with those who are special to us, our survivors,” expressed the Committee.”
In conjunction with this year’s Relay theme, “Light the Light, Fight the Fight,” the room was decorated with illuminated candle lightings.
An inspirational program was presented by Sandy Burke, a caregiver and Relay volunteer, on her experiences with family and friends who have been touched by cancer. “Our committee would like to thank Sandy for being our speaker and for all she does for Relay For Life. We were blessed with a large crowd, a delicious meal, and an inspiring program,” said Janice Crow, RFL Survivor Co-Chair.
“We are grateful to Pastor Allen Spangler of Christian Chapel Church, to Humble Beginnings for preparing the meal, and to Little Giant Jr, Uptown Pickers, and Higginson Farms, for donating the door prizes,” added Sandy Burke, RFL Survivor Co-Chair.
The 2026 Relay For Life Event will be held on Saturday, June13, at the Carlton Center in McLeansboro.
