A quick check of any newscast and it’s easy these days to assume a doom and gloom outlook. There are bright spots however. The Carmi Chamber of Commerce welcomed two new businesses this week. On Tuesday, Chamber Executive Director and others officially welcomed new Edward Jones Financial Planner Rhett Funk to the community. A Lawrenceville, IL native, Funk is taking over the office on April Avenue and is one of three Edward Jones representatives in Carmi alone.
Wednesday morning, Newman was back at it with the fellow business community to welcome Ryan and Trish Nguyen for a ribbon cutting and grand opening of Carmi Nails & Spa on Oak Street. The new business hit the ground running with 25 appointments already scheduled for today alone. The spa is also hiring. You can see photos of the new business below.
