A 24-year-old with addresses listed as Vincnennes, IN and Marion, IL was arrested just after 7:30pm in Carmi near the Ferrell Clinic. Authorities pulled over Claud Abbott in a car registered to him with an address in Johnston City, IL and subsequently placed him under arrest on charges of Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration due to Mandatory Insurance Violation. Police listed evidence found in the vehicle including multiple smoking devices with residue, two glass jars of cannabis, and opened pre-roll joint container. After booking, Abbott was released and sent on his way with a court date of October 27th.
Overnight into Monday, Carmi Police arrested 47-year-old Crystal Slone of Carmi. She was pulled over near Rice Motors and cuffed on a charge of Driving on a Suspended License. Additionally, Slone picked up a citation for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. After processing, Slone was released with a court date of November 10th to face the charge.
