In the wee morning hours on Friday, a White County Sheriff Deputy noticed a 2007 black Pontiac Grand Prix traveling with a headlight out.
The deputy stopped the car and asked Jackie Summers for her license and insurance. Summers admitted she had neither and said the vehicle was not hers. James Pagett, the passenger, was identified as the owner.
When the deputy ran their information through dispatch, he learned that Summers had a suspended license in Indiana and that Pagett was wanted on a warrant from Dubois County. Both individuals were placed under arrest, and the vehicle was towed by S&E.
Summers was issued three citations: driving while license suspended, operating a vehicle with one headlamp, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was given a First Appearance on April 7 at 9 am.

Sixteen minutes later, deputies were called to a report of a man who had driven through a yard and struck a telephone pole, possibly intoxicated.
David Oshea, very intoxicated, stood in the roadway and said he was trying to leave when his truck got stuck in the yard. The deputy noticed claw marks on Oshea’s neck and blood on his jeans, which Oshea explained were from him scratching himself due to allergies.
The deputy then went into the house and talked to Catherine Acord, who was also intoxicated, and stated that Oshea had bitten her ear and took responsibility for the marks on his neck. The deputy observed scratches and a swollen, bruised area on Acord’s chin. That’s when Acord said they had been in a physical altercation.
Deputies arrested both Acord and Oshea for Domestic Battery and took them to the White County Jail. Acord will attend an Arraignment on May 11 at 9:30 am. Oshea’s Arraignment is on May 6 at 1 pm. The court released both after their appearance on Monday morning.
