In White County court Wednesday, the state achieved guilty verdicts by way of plea deal in four cases. Those included Anthony Crawley of Crossville who was convicted on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine. He’ll serve 2 years of probation, be fined, and ordered into drug treatment. Should Crawley violate probation, he’s also got a 6-month stayed jail sentence and was given credit for 2 days of time served.
Eldorado resident Brooklyn Potts also agreed to a plea deal Wednesday taking 2 years of supervision/probation through the Offender Initiative Program which lets first-time, non-violent offenders avoid a conviction whereby completing conditions results in dismissed charges. The guilty plea came on the charge of DUI while an Obstruction of Justice deferred prosecution charge will call for 30 hours of community service. Charges of Bribery, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Use of an Electronic Communications Device, Improper Lane Usage, and Failure to Reduce Speed charges were all dismissed.
32-year-old Michael Wyant Jr. of Carmi pled guilty to a Class 4 Felony of Driving on a Revoked/Suspended License due to a DUI (third violation). He received 2 years of conditional discharge, will face a fine, and also will have to spend 10 weekends in jail for a total of 20 days.
19-year-old Landis Ellinghausen of St. Francisville is receiving 2 years of conditional discharge after he was arrested in early November on charges of DUI and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. The 2 years conditional discharge sentence was handed down on the Illegal Transportation charge while the DUI was dismissed.
