Southeastern Illinois College will shine the spotlight on Carmi-White County next week as the Falcons prepare to host Carmi-White County Night on Monday, January 12th at 6:00 PM when they take on Missouri Baptist. The special event aims to celebrate the strong connection between SIC and the Carmi-White County community, inviting students, families, alumni, and fans to pack the gym and show their support.
One of the major storylines of the night centers around former Carmi-White County basketball star Mitchel Edwards, who will take the floor for the Falcons. Edwards carved out a historic high school career with the Bulldogs, finishing as the all-time leading scorer in CWC boys basketball history.
Edwards has appeared in all 15 games this year for SIC, averaging 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 49% from the field, 41% from 3-point range, and 71% from the free throw line.
Bulldog fans are encouraged to wear their maroon and white to Deaton Gymnasium, and all CWCHS students in attendance will receive free admission.
