The Carmi-White County Volleyball team defeated Massac County last night in the IHSA 2A Benton Sectional Championship in two sets, 25-16 & 27-25 to win their third consecutive Sectional Title.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 37-2 on the year, tying the school record for the most wins in a single season.
Carmi-White County moves on the IHSA 2A Super-Sectional on Monday at Shelbyville as they will face Bloomington Central Catholic. The Lady Bulldogs lost to Bloomington Central Catholic in last year’s 2A Super Sectional. The winner of Monday’s match will head to the IHSA State Finals next weekend in Bloomington.
Monday’s Super-Sectional match will be streamed on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. First serve is set for 7 PM.

At the 1A Trico Sectional,
NCOE defeated Edwards County in 3 sets.
NCOE will face Okawville at the Wayne City Super-Sectional on Monday.
At the 2A Trenton-Wesclin Sectional,
Columbia defeated Nashville in 2 sets.
Columbia will face Rochester in the Vandalia Super-Sectional on Monday.
There are a couple area high school teams who will take part in the 2nd Round of the IHSA Football Playoffs this weekend.

Johnston City will travel to Maroa-Forsyth
Flora will host Pana
DuQuoin will travel to Westville
In Class 4A,
Carterville will travel to Sacred Heart-Griffin
Tonight is Sectional Championship Friday in the Indiana High School Football Playoffs.

Gibson Southern will travel to Evansville Mater Dei
In Class 4A,
Jasper will host Heritage Hills
In Class 5A,
Evansville North will travel to Floyd Central
