Firefighters responded to another solar farm fire Wednesday afternoon. Carmi Fire Chief Daniel Ballard says crews were called to County Road 850 E 2150 North to battle a field fire at the solar farm. He says the fire was limited to just vegetation and none of the solar panels were damaged. The solar farm is owned by Ameren Missouri. Crews were on scene for about 3 hours.
Clarification: A previous version of this article listed the solar farm as owned by Ameren of Illinois as we were told by the fire chief. Ameren Communications has reached out to us with clarification. WROY/WRUL News regrets the error.
