Carmi Police Make Halloween Weekend Arrests

A Carmi man spent the weekend behind bars following his arrest late Friday morning.  Carmi Police picked up 63-year-old Larry Edwards of Webb Street just before the noon hour.  Edwards was originally arrested September 30th on a charge of Criminal Damage to Property.  His arrest Friday is on a Failure to Appear warrant related to that charge.

 

Early Saturday morning just after 4am, Carmi Police arrested 19-year-old Landis Ellinghousen of St. Francisville near the intersection of East Main at Vibracoustic.  Ellinghousen is charged with DUI of Alcohol, DUI (No tolerance), Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, and Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.  He was released just before 2pm Saturday.

 

28-year-old Jacob Grove of New Haven was pulled over Sunday afternoon just before 3:30pm.  Officers initiated the traffic stop after noticing Grove’s registration was expired.  Grove was taken into custody on charges of Driving while License Suspended and Unlawful Display of Registration.  He also was given a citation for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  His vehicle was towed by S&E Auto and Grove was released after booking with a notice to appear.  Grove is due in White County Court on December 9th.

 

Sunday afternoon, Carmi Police arrested 42-year-old Gregory Burchfield at his home on William Drive.  Burchfield was wanted on a Failure to Appear warrant in relation to a charge of Attempting to Foil/Defeat a Drug Screen test.  Burchfield remains behind bars awaiting a hearing before a White County judge.
