Hood Resigning as States Attorney; Headed to State Appellate Prosecutor Office

Hamilton County States Attorney Justin Hood has signaled his intention to resign at the end of the year.  In a letter to the Hamilton County Board, Hood says it’s been a great honor to serve the people and will be working as a prosecutor for the Illinois States Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor Office.  Hood has served as States Attorney for the last 17 years and is one of the longest serving SA’s in the state.  Through the years, Hood has worked on several ventures including the implementation of the coal mine, E-911, County policy updates, and representing the county on many issues that have arisen.  Hood expects to remain in the area though he’ll be working throughout the region.
