WROY/WRUL Local Sports Recap
The Carmi-White County Junior High Baseball and Softball teams traveled to Eldorado yesterday afternoon. The Lady Bullpups came away with a 13-4 victory.
Maci Martin, Auriana Goff, Abbie Sauls, Emma Ricketts, Anna Girten, Sophia Johnson, Alaina Gaddis, and Brinkley Moore all picked up base hits in the win. The Lady Bullpups improve to 5-2 on the season, they will take part in the Fairfield tournament this Saturday.
The Bullpups trailed Eldorado 9-5 going into the top of the 5th inning. Carmi tied the game 9-9 but then the umpires saw lightning. The two teams waited until it cleared out and resumed play. Carmi then took an 11-9 lead, but then the game was called due to darkness since Eldorado’s middle school field does not have lights. By rule, since they didn’t finish the 5th inning, the score reverts back to 9-5 and Eldorado gets the win.
The Bullpups fall to 0-5 on the season, they will host Fairfield next Monday at Bradshaw Park.
Tomorrow night is the annual Fall Sports Preview at CWCHS. All fall sport athletes will be introduced, and the night will be capped off with a scrimmage from the Lady Bulldog Volleyball team. Fans who can’t attend will be able to watch on the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
