The Carmi-White County Softball team will take on Carterville this afternoon in the IHSA 2A Harrisburg Regional Championship.
The Lady Bulldogs are playing in their 3rd consecutive regional championship game as they look to make it back-to-back regional titles.
Carmi comes into today’s game with a 12-13 record, while Carterville is 24-4. The Lady Lions are the defending Class 2A State Champions and they are currently ranked as the #1 team in Class 2A. Carterville defeated Carmi-White County in the Sectional Semifinals last season in a 1-0 14-inning thriller, they also defeated the Lady Bulldogs back on March 25 by a final score of 11-5.
If the Lady Bulldogs win this afternoon, they will move on to the Murphysboro Sectional next Wednesday to face Red Bud or Chester.

10 Lady Bulldogs traveled to Eastern Illinois University yesterday for the IHSA State Track Meet prelims, and no Lady Bulldogs will be advancing to today’s State Finals.
The 4×4 Relay Team of Ellie King, Aubrey Kessler, Audrey Taylor, and Callie Winter finished in 33rd Place.
The 4×8 Relay Team of Makyla Seibers, Callie Acord, Ally Pollard, and Gabbie Conover finished in 35th Place.
Torrie Rider finished in 28th Place in Shot Put.
Norah Taylor did not place in High Jump.

The CWC Boys Tennis team traveled to Herrin yesterday for the IHSA 1A Sectional. Nobody advanced to today’s finals, but the team did enjoy a trip to Goofy Golf in Marion.
Team Courty-Dodgson-Whitley finished in 1st Place, finishing 14 under.
Team Wiggins-Winkleman took 2nd Place, finishing 9 under.
Team Lucas-Anderson finished 3rd, shooting even on the day.
