The Carmi-White County Baseball team fell to Edwards County yesterday by a final score of 5-2.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning on an RBI single by Gavin Holloman, but the Lions answered with 3 in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th to take a 4-1 lead. Edwards County then extended that lead to 5-1 with a run in the 7th. The Bulldogs scored once in the bottom of the 7th, but their comeback effort would come up short.
The Bulldogs fall to 4-6-1 on the year. They will travel to Johnston City today.
The Carmi-White County Softball team fell to Edwards County at home by a final score of 8-2.
The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 3-0 in the top of the 1st inning, but they would cut that to 3-2 with RBIs by Alayna Johnson and Alex Vaupel. Edwards County added one in the 4th inning, but they would put it away with 4 runs in the 7th inning to seal the victory.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 5-6 on the year, they’ll have a rematch with the Lady Lions tomorrow as they travel to Edwards County.
The Carmi-White County Girls Track team traveled to West Frankfort yesterday for the Lady Redbird Invitational, and the Lady Bulldogs finished in 8th Place.
Makyla Seibers finished in 3rd Place in the 800 Meter Run.
Ally Pollard finished in 3rd Place in the 1600 Meter Run.
The 4×2 Relay Team of Andi Garner, Ellie King, Aubrey Kessler, and Riley Roark finished in 5th Place.
The 4×4 Relay Team of Andi Garner, Audrey Taylor, Norah Taylor, and Callie Winter finished in 5th Place.
The 4×8 Relay Team of Callie Acord, Ally Pollard, Gabbie Conover, and Makyla Seibers finished in 4th Place.
Torrie Rider placed 4th in Shot Put.
Ashlyn Rager placed 4th in Discus.
Norah Taylor placed 5th in High Jump.
The Lady Bulldogs will host the CWC Invite next Wednesday.
